Summer Climbin'

In 2014, the United Way of the Flint Hills became interested in the impact of summer learning loss on our community’s youth.  Our program, Summer Climbin’, works with the Summer Meals programs throughout the community to engage children in staying active, both mentally and physically, over the summer months.

This year we have partnered with Emporia Public Library, Kansas Free for Arts, Theta Yoga, ESU Science Department, David Traylor Zoo, and Healthier Lyon County to provide fun activities to children under the age of 18 visiting summer meal sites.
