United Way’s Day of Caring, in partnership with Emporia State University and the Flint Hills Technical College, will take place on Saturday morning, September 14th. It is an event that connects energetic student volunteers with several of United Way’s Community Partners agencies to provide short term, project-focused volunteer service. Service activities will take place at several Community Partner locations in Emporia. Day of Caring demonstrates that volunteering truly brings out the best in all of us. Emporia State University, Flint Hills Technical College, students, and United Way all work together to lend a helping hand. It is an opportunity to put the mantra UNITED IN PURPOSE into action!
United Way's Community Partner receive priority consideration for our event; other nonprofits may be invited to submit proposals if funds and space allow. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to utilize volunteer efforts in your programs. In addition to connecting organizations with volunteers, United Way of the Flint Hills is offering grants to help fund the projects. This is a great opportunity to make building and office improvements if you don’t have the funds, staff, or time to get the work done!
We hope you will submit a project proposal! To do so, complete the form below by August 26th, 2024.
If you have any questions about this application, please contact Daphne Mertens at (620) 342-7564.
