Executive Director
Job Description:
United Way of the Flint Hills (UWFH) is seeking a dynamic and community-minded Executive Director to lead our organization and strengthen our impact across an eight-county region. The Executive Director oversees our strategic direction, fundraising, community impact efforts, and day-to-day operations, while building strong relationships with partners, donors, and local organizations.
This role also provides leadership for Healthier Lyon County, supervises staff, coordinates multiple community coalitions, and manages grant writing, reporting, and compliance for local, state, and federal funding streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and vision for UWFH’s mission and strategic goals
- Lead fundraising efforts, including the annual campaign and corporate giving
- Write and manage grants; ensure accurate reporting and compliance
- Oversee Healthier Lyon County and support community coalitions
- Build strong partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies, businesses, and
schools - Manage organizational finances, budgets, and internal controls
- Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture
- Work closely with the Board of Trustees on planning, governance, and community
impact initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- 5+ years experience in nonprofit leadership, public health, community development,
or related fields - Demonstrated experience with grant writing and grant management
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills
- Experience supervising staff and leading collaborative community initiatives
