Dear Friends,
In the words of Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Since moving to the Flint Hills area three years ago, we have witnessed so many selfless acts of giving, kindness, and compassion from our community. The people of the Flint Hills truly care for one another and take pride in the growth and success of the community. This community was a driving force in our decision to relocate, and we have not regretted it! As long-time United Way supporters who understand the value of the work the United Way of the Flint Hills has on our community, we are honored to serve as this year’s Campaign Drive Co-chairs.
The challenge of COVID-19 has brought unexpected hardships for many individuals, families, businesses, and organizations. United Way has been responding to local needs and society’s most pressing problems for more than 130 years. The tough work needed to help our community recover is the very work that United Way of the Flint Hills does every day - feed those facing food insecurity, prepare children for success, and connect those in financial distress with resources. This pandemic will have a long-term impact on many facets of our community. It is critical that we prepare for, respond to, and ultimately help our communities emerge stronger from this. The fight is not over.
Our slogan for this year is “Through hardship, there is hope. Live United.” With your support, we will continue to reimagine and rebuild our communities. I invite you to join us in supporting this year’s United Way campaign. Your donation, when combined with donations from thousands of others, could make a long-term impact on the Flint Hills community. Thank you for your support of the United Way. I am excited and look forward to a prosperous campaign.
Sincerely,
Kristy Bayer BJ Bayer
