Ibarra follows Tagan Trahoon as drive chair. The United Way won’t have its official campaign kickoff until August or September, but fundraising is now a year-round effort, including workplace campaigns, separate private donations and an increasing emphasis on grants.
Yahaira Ibarra is hitting the ground running.
The new drive chair for the United Way of the Flint Hills says she was floored, honored and humbled when asked to take that public leadership role. She says the United Way’s work has been important to her for a long time, but she didn’t realize how the United Way affected her life until recently.
Ibarra currently serves as the marketing director for Emporia State Federal Credit Union, has also helped with Bloom House Youth Services, Kansas Children’s Service League and other United Way Community Partners.
Ibarra is looking forward to the next year.
