United Way's Days of Caring

September 19th-25th, 2026

Our Days of Caring brings together our community partners and volunteers for a powerful day of service. This day is all about showing up for our neighbors. Thanks to the incredible support of our partners and the dedication of our volunteers, we’re building a stronger, more connected community—one act of kindness at a time.

We partner with local non-profits that have projects in need of completion but lack time, resources, or funds.

Time slots: 10:00am-1:00pm or 2:00pm-5:00pm

Sign-Up Deadline: August 25, 2026

If applicable, please provide an itemized list of supplies and cost. Projects do not have to have a budget component in order to be considered. To be eligible for funding, projects must utilize volunteers on the event date.

We will attempt to fund as many projects as possible and are most interested in projects with a budget of $300 or less. Award amounts are dependent on the number and requested amounts of proposals received. Funding will be on a reimbursement basis after the Days of Caring. Reimbursement forms will be sent after proposal acceptance, and will be due no later than Friday, September 4, 2026.

Please explain additional considerations made and provide any additional information, such as:
  • Will the project be in a confined space that will allow for only 1-2 volunteers?
  • Any hazards/dangers you can think of?
  • Will specialized skills be needed?
  • Is this project something that you may have to contract out rather than utilize volunteers to complete?
  • Will you need to provide equipment or tools, such as a truck or trailer for trash disposal? 
  • Other?

If your organization has been selected to participate in Days of Caring and indicated a need for funding, please keep the receipts from the purchased materials, and a reimbursement will be issued. Receipts need to be submitted to kayla@uwfh.org and include the organization's name and address.
