Healthy matters of all kinds were featured Saturday at the Interactive Health Fest.
Healthier Lyon County Community and Housing Coordinator Jessica Reth says the event was well-timed, in part due to the upcoming winter illness season. Reth says there was a concerted effort to bring different sectors of health and wellness together. Other connections, though, developed organically.
Emporia State’s Health and Human Performance Department always has a strong presence at the event, and this year was no exception with a large square of different information stations. Senior Savannah McCreight of El Dorado was glad to be involved. A double major in psychology and health and human performance, McCreight sees benefits from Saturday’s event helping those attending. That includes her own career goals.
All told, around 30 vendors filled the central part of Flinthills Mall with information, displays and giveaways.
