Day 1 of the United in Purpose KVOE Live Morning Drive Radio Auction went well.

Over $600 was generated on the first of a five-day silent auction highlighted on KVOE’s airwaves. United Way of the Flint Hills Executive Director Daphne Mertens says this sets the stage for the week.

The United Way is fast approaching its campaign goal of $500,000. Mertens says there is a big need areawide, but donors are stepping up to meet that overall need.

Mertens says fundraising from the auction goes towards “everything” the United Way does for its community partners and urgent needs in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Morris, Osage, Wabaunsee and Woodson counties.

Bidding goes daily through Friday. Items and top bid amounts can be viewed through KVOE.com and unitedwayoftheflinthills.org. Bidding goes from 6:30-9 am through the KVOE Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply text line at 620-342-5863.
