Day of Caring

United Way’s Day of Caring, in partnership with Emporia State University and the Flint Hills Technical College, will take place on Saturday morning, September 14th from 9-11 a.m.  It is an event that connects energetic student volunteers with nonprofit agencies to provide short term, project-focused volunteer service that benefit the agencies. Service activities will take place at nonprofit locations in Emporia. Day of Caring demonstrates that volunteering truly brings out the best in all of us. Emporia State University, Flint Hills Technical College, students, and United Way all work together to lend a helping hand. It is an opportunity to put the mantra UNITED IN PURPOSE into action!

We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to utilize volunteer efforts in your programs. This is a great opportunity to make building and office improvements if you don’t have the staff or time to get the work done!

We hope you will submit a project proposal! To do so, complete the form below by Monday August 26, 2024.

If you have any questions about this application, please contact Daphne Mertens at (620) 342-7564.
